History-ToursDo you know more about Loveland History than a 2nd grader?

This is your chance to see if you know more about Loveland history than a 2nd grader! Get a glimpse into our History Day experience as you learn more about Loveland and explore our heritage.

For the past two years, the Museum has partnered with the Thompson Education Foundation and the Lola Johnson Fund to provide field trips for all Thompson School District 2nd graders. History Days gives second graders the chance to learn about Loveland and Northern Colorado history while meeting curriculum standards.

All tours are free, but pre-registration is recommended. Please call the Museum front desk at (970) 962-2410  to pre-register.

Open to ages 10 – adult
Tours will begin at 5:30, 6, 6:30 pm
(each tour lasts approximately 30 – 45 minutes)

A $10 donation to the Lola Johnson Fund will be recommended to support our 2nd grade field trip program.

Miss Johnson will teach you about school-life in the 1800s with lessons and discipline. As boys and girls in her 19th century classroom, you must obey proper protocol or risk being punished (a favorite among our 2nd graders). Please meet at Lone Tree School in North Lake Park.
    Thursday, October 1
Museum staff and docents will give in-depth tours of the history galleries and a behind-the-scenes tour of the collection. Learn about Mariano Medina, GW Sugar Factory, and much more while also getting a rare glimpse into our 35,000+ item collection. Please meet at the Loveland Museum.
    Thursday, October 29
Rialto staff will give tours of the stage, dressing rooms, projection booth, and theater and share information about its rich history. The Rialto has been part of Loveland since 1920… who knows what you might see touring this historic building so close to Halloween! Please meet at the Rialto Theater Center.
