Lone Tree School in North Lake Park

May is Historic Preservation Month, so pay a visit to this historic Lone Tree Schoolhouse! Lone Tree is an original one-room schoolhouse that was used in the Loveland area in the 1800s. The schoolhouse sits in North Lake Park and is used for summer history camps and outreach history lessons. Join us for an open house and enjoy some ice cream! There will also be tours, crafts, games and horse-drawn carriage rides. Registration for 2015 summer sessions will also be available.

This fun and unique event will also be recognizing and celebrating the Johnson Family for their generous contributions to the Lone Tree legacy. The late Lola Johnson was a co-founder of the Lone Tree Summer School program for the museum, and funds in her honor have been donated by the family to the Lola Johnson Field Trip Fund. The goal of this fund is to provide a History Day field trip for every 2nd grade student in Thompson School District in May of each year. If you would like to donate to this fund, please contact the Thompson Education Foundation at (970) 613-5074  or visit www.thompsontef.org.
