November 14, 2020 – January 9, 2021

Exhibit Admission: $7

This two-person exhibition includes work in stone, wood, copper and bronze. Loveland, Colorado-based artists Ellen Woodbury and Kathryn Vinson share the sensual thrill of carving natural materials that have endured for millennia with ancient artists who first expressed their lives in sculptural form. The exhibition eloquently links the subjects of the natural world by using source material from that same earthly sphere.

Vinson sculpts botanical interpretations inspired by her love of plants, insects, and the interconnectedness of ecosystems. Her graceful forms echo an organic approach to rhythm and movement.

Ellen Woodbury carves stylized animal sculptures. Her creative process involves extensive research and planning to capture the spirit and personality of the animal. As befits her background as a Disney© animator, Woodbury’s carving process derives from her training in traditional hand-drawn animation.
