Design to a Tea, TWO
From the Collection of Jeannine Le Compte
Textiles on loan from Avenir Museum, Colorado State University
August 11 – October 7, 2018
Teacups are a decorative art that combine cultural history with a graceful and surprisingly diverse aesthetic. This exhibition of teacups and other tableware dates from the mid-1800s and is primarily Japanese in origin. Each cup, with its intricate decoration, tells a story that opens the door to another time and culture. Inspired by the designs portrayed on these objects, textiles on loan from Avenir Museum at Colorado State University will provide a full sensory experience that makes this beautiful collection come to life.
