July 14 – September 9, 2018

Opening Reception: Friday, July 13, 6 – 8 pm

Innovative, creative, and challenging, the Colorado State University Fibers Guild members present an exhibition that encroaches artistic limits and pushes beyond the usual boundaries of fiber arts.

Fiber art is unique in that it communicates a message, emotion or meaning that goes beyond the literal meaning of the materials. The challenge of fiber arts is to coordinate the traditional use of materials with the unique way the materials contribute to the overall work of art.

Fiber art has a rich and long history. With an awareness of the historical associations of fiber media, this exhibition re-categorizes its potential as an influential art form firmly within the realm of contemporary artistic pursuit.

Exhibition includes the work of:
Abby Curran
Alexa Graham
Jacob Jaso
Tristan Lee
Heather Matthews
Carrie Miller
Anika Sink
Janine Thornton
